Land's End to John O'Groats 2009

A Cyclists Guide to LEJOG

Bikeability cycle training

On the 18th May 2009 myself (Simon Tillyer) and fellow cyclist Trevor Howard completed Lands End to John O'Groats in 7 days by bicycle.

The trip has so far raised over £4000 for Newbury District Cancer Care Trust, you can read a little more about them here.

We trained incredibly hard for the trip, throughout the winter months and into the spring cycling over 150 miles most weeks. A very special thank you not only goes to all of our supporters who followed our progress but to our families who, for a short time, lost a husband and a father while we were busy getting fitter. Take a look at the training page to see the progress leading up to the trip.

So now it is all over it is not too late to donate, you can give anything securely at or click on the PLEASE DONATE buttons at the top or bottom of this page.

To see how the trip went then have a look at the Ride Log page for a day by day account plus a few pictures. You'll also find a snippet of the DVD we have been making that will be available in the next month or so - if you fancy taking on the challenge then it will be a must see film with advice from physios, dieticians, bike mechanics and past LEJOG riders giving valuable route advice.

To contact me about the DVD or to make an offline donation please email
